I climbed Mt. Fuji and it was awesome

words. (This post had a whole explanation of everything but wordpress just ate it. So I leave it here for the moment with no comment other than the placeholder “words” that I started it with.)

I miss your words, but am very glad to see your pictures!

In my non-judgmental and very consolatory opinion, this post was quite magical without any words. It’s like the Polar Express book, or the Voynich Manuscript – a mystery in pictures!

The breakfast looks delicious, but do all the spoons have huge bamboo handles?
Why does everyone wear gaiters without pants?
Why do your dad and husband have samurai-style poles with flags? Is it case there’s a Fuji-hiker turf war on the trail, you all know which side to rally to?
How did that aircraft carrier get stuck in the side of the hill? Is it the SDF-1 Macross?

A few years ago Becky and I hiked Half Dome. It probably was quite a bit shorter than your hike, and it was killer! By the end I thought my feet were going to fall off and run for cover, so I totally admire your having completed this hike without any previous training or conditioning. Amazing!
