Making it Up As I Go

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Daniele sent me a photo she ran across on Instagram of a gorgeous mosque in Tokyo. So of course I looked it up, and we headed out to find it today. As it turns out, I’m fairly sure that the Instagram photo was mislabled, because I don’t think it’s the same place, but this mosque was so pretty it doesn’t matter. 🙂

On the way back to the train, Zoe mentioned that everyone we had seen at the mosque had “brown skin” rather than being Japanese, so we talked a bit about Islam and it’s beginnings, and the localities of religions. We talked about the commonalities between Islam and our beliefs, and had a good conversation. Then we went and got Krispy Kremes. 🙂

Here’s a picture of the girls with the statue of Hachiko, the dog who faithfully waited for his owner at the Shibuya Station every day, and for nine years after his owner died. (The girls don’t know that part of the story.)
