Of good report
Things making me happy this morning:
Hot chocolate. I always think it’s going to be too much trouble to make, but then it isn’t, and it tastes so good and is such a lovely start to the morning.
A hummingbird visiting Z’s sunflowers this morning.
Z’s ponytail. It’s just so dang long.
My sister. After my husband and my children, she is the love of my life. Talking with her always leaves me uplifted and thinking more clearly. As evidenced here.
Orange tic tacs. I grabbed some on a whim at Target yesterday, and they are delish.
This book: Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing: Patterns and How-To for 24 Fresh and Easy Projects, which is inspiring what I think will be all of my Christmas presents this year. If I get started now, I’ll be done plenty early- right?
Trout Fishing in America’s version of The Window (the song where you sing nursery rhymes and then throw them out the window: “Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water, jack fell down and broke his crown, and threw it out the window”) in which they “window”-ize Stairway to Heaven. Awesome.
My Auntie, who is running a series of posts on her blog (it’s a private one, otherwise I’d post a link) about the heroes of 9/11. She is so dedicated to honoring the memories of those people who experienced that tragedy, those who lived, who died, who saved others. I really admire her devotion to remembering them – she collects books and information about the events in order to learn and understand more about the individuals who were there, simply because she believes that they as our brothers and sisters are worth knowing. I love that, and I love her. I am so lucky that my uncle (who I adore more than words) married her.
What’s making you happy today?
