Today in Ueno
Today we went into Ueno today to go to a Summer Festival. It was along a lake that looked like this when we saw it in December. When we saw it in April, it was just water.
But today, oh dear heavens.
Enormous water lily plants as far as the eye could see. It was honestly one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen in my life. I almost cried, it was so beautiful.
A cool bug.
There was an “antique fair” going on as part of the festival, and this booth had the weirdest, awesomest things ever. A guitar made of a skull.
I don’t even know what this is, but it looks like something terrifying from Doctor Who.
This guy would write your name in kanji for 700 yen.
This guy had a little trained monkey and did a whole show. It was awesome, and hilarious, even though we didn’t understand what he was saying. The girls LOVED it.
Awesome posters for The Lone Ranger:
The Ueno police station. We didn’t have any business there today, I just think it looks cool.
