Adventure Wednesday: Mission edition
Today we ventured out in the cold to go to Mission Santa Clara. It’s on the University of Santa Clara campus, which is a small, but very pretty little campus. This is what we saw. Brandy, I thought of you. 🙂
Two freezing little ones. Check out the red noses and Z’s two coats.
Little orphans on the steps of the Mission?
I didn’t take pictures inside the church, but it was absolutely gorgeous. They had a lovely Nativity up, and some beautiful artwork, in addition to the fully restored building. The chandeliers were insane. I wish I’d had more time to take in the stations of the cross, but the lighting was a little low for Z, and someone came in to pray, so it was about time for our largish group to leave, even though the kids did a great job of staying quiet.
Overall it was a great trip, and it’s wonderfully close to home, which makes it even better! And it netted me this picture, which is one of my favorites I’ve ever taken:
Miss Tiny and one of her BFFs, Elise.
I want to live where you live! I don’t know if you know this, but I have a very STRONG love for palm trees!!! (Utah has a lot of PINE trees. They are just not as neat!)
Love you!! I gave Travie a hug from you today and he said, “Oh I love her!” I just had to pass that along!! 🙂
I love missions, Maryanne 🙂 Glad you guys had fun!
Brandy, it was the Sacred Heart statue that really made me think of you, it was gorgeous. One side says “Learn of me” (I think – I didn’t take a picture, so I’m relying on my admittedly faulty memory), the other says “Come to me”.
Breezie- come visit! We have palm trees outside our apartment!
