Making it Up As I Go

Right now in my house:

I am making a list of the things that need to get done today. The list includes:
Taking dinner to a friend who just had a baby.
Figuring out what said dinner will be. (I think I’m going to take the easy route and get one of those already prepared meals. Hey, it’s yummy, and it’s food!)
Going grocery shopping.
Getting books back to the library
Getting the car washed.
Giving Z a toy for making it through the car wash without screaming her brains out.
Finishing up the scrapbook from the Disneyland trip from January.
Working out. Jillian Michaels Level 3, baby!
Hopefully getting to read some more of The Snows of Kilimanjaro and Other Stories (Scribner Classics) by Hemingway. Bliss.

Zoe is watching Leap Frog – Talking Words Factory 2 – Code Word Caper in which she is learning about silent E and what happens when there are two vowels next to each other in a word. I LOVE these dvds, and so does she. She watches them almost every day.

Tiny is playing with Zoe’s toys, and Zoe isn’t freaking out. This is a minor miracle. She is also trying to get into the cupboard under the TV without pulling down the blanket that I put up to keep her out of there. In the process she is actually pulling at the blanket, and the books that are holding the blanket up are going to end up on her head. There, I’ve moved them. Crisis averted.

I’m eating Cheerios. I need to add a more exciting cereal to my grocery list.

B is downstairs washing the Mustang. I am clueless as to how he is doing this without a hose, but he’s a tricky guy.

Z’s tomato plant has 6 little green tomatoes starting to grow! I was beginning to wonder if it was going to actually bear fruit (so to speak- or wait, is tomato the one that’s actually a fruit?), so this is really exciting.

I find it highly amusing that one of the screwdrivers on Handy Manny is called Felipe. Get it? It’s a Phillips head screwdriver? Felipe? It makes me laugh. (Z is multitasking and playing with her Handy Manny Fix-it Phone toy right now, that’s why I thought of that.)

I’m thinking about Brandy and hoping she is having a good day today.

I’m thinking about Hilary and thinking we should get together and play sometime soon.

I just remembered that it’s August and I need to get going on sorting out what we’re doing for preschool this year. (We’re doing a little home preschool with some friends, and have yet to sort out the curriculum.)

Is there a way to cram more time into the day?
