Random thoughts
– 3 1/2 weeks after having a baby, I have no muscle tone in my lower abs. I worked out today, and discovered I couldn’t do a full sit up if my life depended on it. Seriously. I’d be dead.
– This will probably get me mocked by at least one of you, but I’m strangely addicted to Finger Eleven’s song Paralyzer. That’s what listening to Sirrius radio in the car will get you. It will also get you wondering why that one of the Jonas brothers straightens his hair while the other two are all adorably Ari and Uzi Tenenbaum-ing it. (And no, I’m not strangely addicted to the Jonas brothers. I am not so far gone.)
-Speaking of the Tenenbaums, I find it interesting that so many of my favorite books/films feature precocious siblings. Salinger’s Glass family, the aforementioned Tenenbaums, The House of Yes, my newly discovered Brideshead Revisited, the Scott brothers– not to mention my fascination with the Mitford sisters. I don’t really have anything else to say about it, it’s just interesting to me.
-And speaking of being strangely addicted to songs, there is no doubt where Zoe gets her tendency to listen to songs over and over and over and over. Her most recent obsession is High Five by They Might be Giants. I never expected my child to be indoctrinated in the ways of disco so early in life.
-Is it pretentious of me to want to order “mommy calling cards“? They’re just so cute! But would I use them? And if I did, would people think I was snooty? Should I care?
I have no more thoughts. And it’s time to wake up Zoe.

I like the idea of calling cards. I think they are old school and awesome. When I say “old school”, I mean OLD, like 1910.
Maybe I had a baby 3 1/2 weeks ago because my sit-ups are lacking the “sit” and the “up”, they are more like lie-downs.
