50 books?

This year, getting to my goal of reading 100 books has been a bigger challenge than in previous years because so much of my time is dedicated to the sweetness that is Zoe. So I’m thinking next year I might change the goal to 50 books, which is just slightly less that 1 book a week. At this point that’s far more achievable, although the thought makes me sad. But I can still read more than 50, right?

In preparation, I’m putting together a list of books I want to read. Here it is- do you have any suggestions to add?

Little Women-Louisa May Alcott (haven’t read it since I was 7)
Jesus the Christ– James E. Talmadge (Shouldn’t this count as 3 or 4?)
Wuthering Heights-Emily Bronte
Watchmen– Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons (I know, I know, but somehow I’ve never gotten around to reading it!)
The Scientist in the Crib:What Early Learning Tells Us About the Mind by Gopniff, Meltzoff and Kuhl
The Magic Years:Understanding and Handling the Problems of Early Childhood by Selma Fraiberg
Fool’s Errand– Robin Hobbs
For Whom The Bells Tolls– Ernest Hemingway
Diary of Anais Nin vol. 1
Hons and Rebels– Jessica Mitford
The Blind Assassin– Margaret Atwood
Death at Victoria Dock– Kerry Greenwood
Brideshead Revisited– Evelyn Waugh
Pride and Prejudice– Jane Austen
Happiest Toddler on the Block– Harvey Karp and Paula Spencer
Catcher in the Rye– J.D. Salinger (Haven’t read it since high school)
Lectures on Faith– Joseph Smith
Never Let Me Go– Kazuo Ishiguro
The Tipping Point-Malcom Gladwell
Letter Perfect:The Marvelous History of Our Alphabet from A to Z– David Sacks
Letters to a Young Poet– Rainer Maria Rilke

How about Persuasion by Jane Austen instead of Pride and prejudice? I get to read this one for a book group and it would be fun if you read it too at the same time! Then we could compare notes, thoughts, opinions…
Just a thought. I haven’t ever read this one before but Prid and Prejudice was really good!
