Of Good Report #6

Things that are making me happy today:

We had a wonderful morning- I had all kinds of things planned, lots of errands I needed to run for last minute Christmas things (or, more to the point, errands to do so that they wouldn’t be last minute), and I woke up to it pouring outside. I had the strong impression that B shouldn’t drive the Mustang in to work, and that I shouldn’t be driving the Charger today, so I told him to take the Charger, and I changed my plans. Instead of lots of errands, I bundled Zoe, Audrey and myself up, and we went out in the rain and got treats at Starbucks (including a little reindeer for Zoe that is now named Dexter), stomped in big puddles, and checked out all of the Christmas trees in the different leasing offices. Including our own, we saw 6 trees. Zoe was very excited about that.

Because of our long adventure, Zoe was super tired, and actually took a nap for the first time in about a week. She’s been asleep for 3 hours now, and I actually should go wake her up.

While she’s been napping, I watched the first two episodes of the old Brideshead Revisited mini-series. Oh my goodness, I’m in love. The visuals are lovely, it’s incredibly true to the book, the casting is brilliant, Jeremy Irons is perfect- I can’t wait to watch the rest of it. Brandy and Jamie, put it on your Netflix queues immediately. You will love it.

Also while Z was sleeping- my groceries were delivered. Hooray and hallelu- grocery delivery is the best thing ever. No balancing tons of bags and gallons of milk while trying to carry a car seat and shepard a 2 1/2 year old intent on wandering. Worth every penny, I tell you.

And speaking of coins, when the maintenance guys came to fix our garbage disposal today, they discovered it was stopped up because there was a dime in it- which no longer looks like a dime. It made me laugh, and is therefore on this list. Poor dime.

Bruce got to come home for lunch today. He works close enough that he comes home for lunch most days, and I just love that he’s able to do that. We love to see him in the middle of the day, and it’s nice for us to all be able to have lunch together.

It seems there was something else, but I’m not thinking of it at the moment, so I’m going to go wake up Zoe.

What’s of good report in your day?

  1. You stole all the good, I think.

I had to stand in line for 20 minutes at the post office to discover the eBay “calculate the postage” feature they have been forcing on sellers sucks, and ate $15 in postage for one item.

Got on the streetcar after waiting in the snow, having no small change, and of course it was a streetcar with a fair inspector on it, and I had to get off. Next streetcar was to be in six minutes according to the LED display, and so when I popped in a store, of course it went by almost the moment I stepped inside.

No one is wiping their feet before coming in the comics store, leaving dirty melted ice puddles everywhere.

I’ll probably get to close early because of the weather, but…well, bugger, that means I lose another $15!!!!

  2. I think that perhaps Jamie didn’t understand the essay prompt…

My day was fantastic 🙂 I watched It’s a Wonderful Life and choked up like I always do when George realizes he’s the “richest man in town”. I got to play with my kitties outside, and watch poor MuMu fail miserably at stalking a bird. I’m having my very favorite meal (pork chop casserole) for dinner. Terminator is on tonight. Life is fantastic 🙂
