Well, whadda ya know

So it looks like I’m in labor. Feels like it too. Which is amusing seeing as just earlier today (I guess yesterday, actually, seeing as I went to sleep in between) we set an induction date of Friday for Miss “You’re not the boss of me”. More updates to follow.

A public service announcement

Freakazoid, one of the best animated shows EVER is now available on DVD. This is one of the best things to have happened in some period of time I have yet to define. You should go buy it now. If you haven’t seen it, you don’t know what you’re missing. If you have, then you know. Or if you didn’t like it, then you’re a weirdo and should give it another chance.

……What?

They’re making a sequel to Hairspray? I guess I should be pleased that John Waters is writing it, and I do love Adam Shankman directing and choreographing, but A SEQUEL?

And if that wasn’t enough of a “what?”:
MTV is remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show?? If Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus are in it, it’s officially apocalypse time. Ok, wait, they could actually work as Brad and Janet. I wouldn’t watch it, but they could work, in a wrong and horrible way, seeing as she’s only 15 and all of her and Zac’s fans are, what, 12?

But with perhaps Steve Tyler as Frankenfurter, Alicia Keys as Magenta, maybe Rhianna as Columbia, it could at least be interesting. And if they got Raul Esparza from the Broadway production as Riff Raff (because he’s a small character, so they wouldn’t have to go with a huge MTV name there) I’d watch it regardless.

NO! I’ve got it! Make it a comeback vehicle for Britney Spears! You’d have ratings through the roof! Why doesn’t MTV pay me for these ideas? Why am I putting so much thought into this? I’ve got to go now.

PS. I just read that they’re using the original script with new music- as long as it’s the Broadway music, that’s fine; if it’s something else, all bets could be off.

Go, quick! Again!

Audrey Katana has yet to make an appearance (which is good because it’s not time for her to do that yet- another 3 weeks!) but B has her website up and running. (What? Zoe has one, Audrey gets one too!). Go check it out, mostly because it has a GORGEOUS drawing by the incredible Joelle Jones, commissioned specifically for the site. Joelle is one of the most talented artists working in comics right now, she has a skill at drawing expressions (both facial and with body language) that many artists never quite get, and don’t even realize they’re missing. She’s just amazing. I could gush about her all day.

On a related note, here is an amusing (at least to me) IM interchange between B and I that took place just after her site went up.
Bruce : my site looks like a hobo site now!
Maryanne: ?
Bruce : comparatively :)
Maryanne: ah
Maryanne: its more utilitarian
Bruce : so are hobos!
Maryanne: LOL
Maryanne: literally. laughing out loud
Bruce : then my work here is done
